Fixing Image Issues

Feedy takes product images straight from Shopify. The first image is the main image (image_link), and the next ones are sent as additional images (Google Shopping takes up to 10 additional images).

To change which image is the main one, reorder the product’s images in Shopify. Feedy picks up the change on the next sync.

Feedy doesn’t check image size, quality, file type or broken links. The platforms do that when they process your feed.

  1. On the Dashboard, look for “Add images to N products” in Recommended Actions to see which products have no images.
  2. Add at least one image to each product in Shopify.
  3. Feedy syncs the change automatically. Then regenerate your feeds.

If you don’t want those products in a feed at all, turn on Exclude products without images on the feed’s Products card. See Stock, Images and Draft Products.

Platforms may reject images that are too small, blurry, have watermarks or promotional text, or can’t be downloaded. Each platform has its own minimum size; Feedy’s checks note these minimums in their messages:

  • Facebook: at least 500 × 500 px recommended
  • TikTok: at least 500 × 500 px
  • Pinterest: at least 600 × 600 px, square (1:1) or tall (2:3)
  • Microsoft: at least 220 × 220 px

For Google’s image rules, see Google’s help page on the image_link attribute.

If you’ve connected Google Merchant Center, image problems Google finds show up on the product’s page in Feedy as From GMC issues after a status sync. See Product Status.

To fix them, replace the image in Shopify with a clear, well-lit photo of the product on a plain background, without text overlays or watermarks.
