Choosing Which Products Go in a Feed

Each feed decides which products to include. You set this when you create the feed (step 2, Products) and can change it later in the feed’s Products card.

  • All Products: every synced product is a candidate for the feed.
  • By Collection: only products in the collections you tick. Feedy shows each collection with its product count. You need at least one collection selected.

To change it on an existing feed:

  1. Click Feeds and open the feed.
  2. Open the Products card.
  3. Choose All Products or By Collection and tick your collections.
  4. Click Save, then Regenerate.

Everything that decides what’s in a feed

Section titled “Everything that decides what’s in a feed”

A product ends up in a feed only if it passes all of these:

  1. Product selection: all products, or in one of the selected collections.
  2. Tag filters: see Tag filtering.
  3. Stock and image rules, plus the store-wide draft and archived rules: see Stock, image and draft rules.
  4. No validation errors for the feed’s platform. Products with errors are left out automatically, whatever your selection. See Validation rules.
  5. Not paused: products with Pause this product ticked are left out of every feed.
  6. Plan limit: a feed includes at most your plan’s number of products (50 on Starter, 2,000 on Growth, 10,000 on Scale, unlimited on Pro). Most recently updated products are taken first. See Plan limits.

The Estimated Products box in the wizard gives a rough count before you create the feed. After generation, the feed’s header shows how many products are ready and how many have errors or warnings.

  • Give it a tag and add that tag to Exclude products with tags.
  • Remove it from the selected collections.
  • Tick Pause this product on its page. Paused products are left out of all your feeds, on every platform, until you untick it and regenerate.
  • For Google Shopping XML feeds, set an Expiration date so Google stops showing the product after that date. The product stays in the feed file; Feedy sends the date to Google as the expiration_date attribute. See Editing a product.
