Products Missing from a Feed
Feedy McFeed Feed checks every product against a list of rules each time a feed is generated. Work through this list to find which one is leaving your product out.
1. Is the product synced?
Section titled “1. Is the product synced?”Go to Products and search for it. If it isn’t there, click Sync Products. See Sync Issues.
2. Does it have a validation error?
Section titled “2. Does it have a validation error?”Products with an error for a platform are left out of that platform’s feeds. Warnings and recommendations don’t remove products.
- Open the product from the Products page.
- Check the sidebar. If it says “Not included in any feeds due to validation errors”, fix the errors listed below it.
- Regenerate the feed.
For Google Shopping feeds, the most common errors are a missing Google Product Category, Brand or GTIN / Barcode. A category set as the feed’s default doesn’t fix a missing category on the product. See Validation Rules.
3. Do the feed’s filters include it?
Section titled “3. Do the feed’s filters include it?”Open the feed and check the Products card:
- By Collection: is the product in one of the selected collections? Feedy reads collection membership from Shopify each time the feed is regenerated, so a product you added to a collection appears after the next regeneration.
- Include products with tags: the product needs at least one of these tags.
- Exclude products with tags: the product must not have any of these tags.
See Including and Excluding Products and Tag Filtering.
4. Is it out of stock, missing images, a draft or archived?
Section titled “4. Is it out of stock, missing images, a draft or archived?”- Exclude out of stock products removes products whose first variant has 0 stock.
- Exclude products without images removes products with no images.
- Draft and archived products are left out unless you turn them on in Settings → Product Inclusion Rules.
5. Is the product paused?
Section titled “5. Is the product paused?”If Pause this product is ticked in the product page sidebar, the product is left out of all your feeds. Untick it, click Save, then regenerate.
6. Has the feed hit your plan’s product limit?
Section titled “6. Has the feed hit your plan’s product limit?”Each feed includes at most your plan’s number of products (50 on Starter). Extra products are left out, starting with the least recently updated. See Plan Limits.
7. Is the product in the feed but not showing on Google?
Section titled “7. Is the product in the feed but not showing on Google?”The product may be in your feed but hidden by Google:
- An Expiration date that has passed tells Google to stop showing it. The product stays in the feed file.
- Google may have disapproved it. See Products Disapproved in GMC.
Open the feed with Preview and search for the product to check whether it’s in the file.
8. Has the feed been regenerated?
Section titled “8. Has the feed been regenerated?”Changes only appear after the feed is generated again. Click Regenerate, or set up a schedule.
About variants
Section titled “About variants”Each product appears once in a feed, using its first variant’s price, SKU, barcode and stock. Individual variants aren’t listed as separate items, so a missing size or color is expected. See Variants.
