Feed Settings

Every feed has its own settings page. To open it, click Feeds, then click the feed’s row (or choose Edit from the row menu for a quick name and market change).

Each card shows a short summary when closed. Open a card, make your changes, and click Save on that card. Changes apply the next time the feed is generated, so click Regenerate when you’re done.

The top of the page shows the feed name, status, format and a Protected badge if feed security is on, plus when it was last generated. The buttons are:

  • Regenerate: rebuild the feed now.
  • Push to FTP: upload the feed to your server now (only shown when FTP delivery is set up).
  • Copy URL: copy the feed URL.
  • Preview: open the feed in a new tab (not available for protected feeds).
  • Export: download the feed’s settings as a JSON file. See Importing and exporting.
  • The trash icon deletes the feed. The feed URL stops working right away.

The stats row shows how many products are ready, how many have errors or warnings, and whether Google Merchant Center is connected or set to auto-upload.

  • Feed Name: a name to help you find the feed.
  • Feed Type: a label for your own reference (for example organic or paid). It doesn’t change the feed’s contents.
  • Feed Format: TSV, XML or CSV. See Feed formats.
  • Target Market: Country, Language and Currency. Currency only labels prices; Feedy doesn’t convert them.
  • Default Google Product Category: used for products that don’t have their own category. It doesn’t clear the “missing Google Product Category” error on products. See Product categories.
  • Description (Optional): your own notes about the feed.
  • Auto-upload to Google Merchant Center: upload the feed’s products to Merchant Center each time the feed regenerates. Needs a Merchant Center connection. See Direct upload.

Choose All Products or By Collection, set tag filters, and choose whether to exclude out-of-stock products and products without images. See Including and excluding products, Tag filtering and Stock, image and draft rules.

Choose which Shopify field fills each feed attribute. Most stores can leave everything on Auto (Default). See Field mapping.

UTM tracking. Tick Enable UTM tracking to add tracking tags to every product link, so you can see feed traffic in Google Analytics. Fill in Campaign Source (utm_source), Campaign Medium (utm_medium), Campaign Name (utm_campaign), and optionally Campaign Content and Campaign Term. An example link shows what the result looks like.

Custom labels. Set Custom Label 0 to 4 for the whole feed. See Custom labels.

Add shipping zones and tax regions for the feed. These are written to Google Shopping feeds. See Shipping and tax.

Most stores don’t need to change these.

Product Identifier Options

  • Product ID Source: Use Shopify Product ID (Recommended), Use SKU or Use Variant ID. Changing this changes your product IDs, which ad platforms treat as new products.
  • Use barcode as GTIN: send the Shopify barcode as the GTIN.
  • MPN (Manufacturer Part Number) Source: none, SKU, variant SKU or a metafield (enter the key, for example custom.mpn).
  • Include identifier_exists attribute: for products without GTIN, MPN or brand.

Additional Price Settings

  • Sale Price Start Date and Sale Price End Date.
  • Cost of Goods Sold Source: none, the Shopify cost field, or a metafield.
  • Unit Pricing Measure and Unit Pricing Base Measure (for example 750ml and 1L).

Additional Product Attributes

  • Size Type, Size System, Multipack Quantity, Is Bundle, Adult Content and Energy Efficiency Class, applied to every product in the feed.

The identifier options apply to all platforms. The price settings and additional attributes are written to Google Shopping feeds.

Turn on automatic regeneration and choose when it runs. See Automatic updates.

Upload the feed file to your own server after each regeneration. See FTP/SFTP delivery.

Require a secret token to read the feed URL. When it’s on, an access log of recent requests appears below the card. See Feed security.
