Syncing Products from Shopify
Feedy McFeed Feed works from a copy of your Shopify catalog. It reads your products (titles, descriptions, images, variants, prices, stock, tags and so on) and uses that copy to check your data and build your feeds.
Feedy only reads your products. It never changes anything in your Shopify store.
When products sync
Section titled “When products sync”- When you install the app. Feedy runs a first sync of your catalog straight away. Large catalogs can take a few minutes.
- When something changes in Shopify. Shopify tells Feedy when a product is created, updated or deleted, and when stock levels change. Feedy updates that product right away.
- When you click Sync Products on the Dashboard or the Products page. You can run a full sync at any time, even if automatic sync is turned off.
There’s no scheduled full sync: after the first sync, Feedy relies on Shopify’s change notifications and the Sync Products buttons.
Run a sync yourself
Section titled “Run a sync yourself”- In Feedy, go to Products (or the Dashboard).
- Click Sync Products.
- Wait for the “Products synced successfully” message. It shows how many products were synced.
Feedy checks every product against each platform’s rules after a sync, so the status of each product is up to date.
Choose what triggers a sync
Section titled “Choose what triggers a sync”- Go to Settings.
- Open Product Sync.
- Use Enable automatic product sync to turn automatic syncing on or off.
- Under Real-time Updates, choose which Shopify changes trigger a sync:
- Sync when products are created
- Sync when products are updated
- Sync when products are deleted
- Sync on inventory changes
- Click Save.
If you turn automatic sync off, products only update when you click Sync Products on the Dashboard or the Products page. Both buttons always run a sync.
See App Settings for the other options on the Settings page.
Which products end up in feeds
Section titled “Which products end up in feeds”Syncing brings in all your products. Whether a product goes into a feed depends on:
- the feed’s product selection and filters (see Including and Excluding Products)
- your rules for drafts, archived products, stock and images (see Stock, Images and Draft Products)
- whether the product has validation errors for that platform (see Validation Rules)
- your plan’s product limit (see Plan Limits)
