Editing a Product's Feed Data

Each product has its own page in Feedy where you can add or override the data that goes into your feeds. Changes you make here are saved in Feedy only. Your Shopify product stays exactly as it is.

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Click the product’s name.

The page title is Product Feed Settings. Make your changes, then click Save. Click Discard to throw away unsaved changes.

  • Product Title: a custom title for the feed (up to 150 characters). Leave it blank to use your Shopify title. The ✨ AI button suggests a title.
  • Product Description: a custom description for the feed. Leave it blank to use your Shopify description. ✨ Expand adds detail to your current text; ✨ Rewrite writes a new version.
  • Short Title: a shorter title for ads with limited space (up to 65 characters). ✨ AI suggests one.
  • Google Product Category: search and pick a category. This is required for Google Shopping. ✨ AI suggests one.
  • Brand: defaults to your Shopify vendor if you leave it blank.
  • Condition: New, Refurbished or Used.
  • GTIN / Barcode: UPC, EAN or ISBN. Feedy checks the number when you save (see Fixing GTIN Errors).
  • MPN: manufacturer part number.
  • Identifier exists: uncheck this if the product has no GTIN, MPN or brand, such as handmade or custom items.

AI suggestions use AI credits. You always review a suggestion before it’s applied. See Introduction to AI.

Short bullet points about key features (2 to 10, up to 150 characters each). Click Add highlight to add one, or ✨ Generate with AI and pick which suggestions to apply. See Product Highlights.

Length, Width, Height and Weight of the product itself, with units (for example 10 in or 1.5 lb).

Color, Size, Material, Pattern, Age Group, Gender and Item Group ID. There are also Adult content and Is bundle checkboxes and a Multipack quantity field.

  • Shipping Dimensions: weight, length, width and height of the package.
  • Shipping Label: a label you can use in Merchant Center shipping rules (for example oversized).
  • Handling time: minimum and maximum days to prepare an order.
  • Transit time: minimum and maximum days for the carrier to deliver.
  • Sale Price: the sale amount. Enter the amount only, for example 79.99. Feedy adds the feed’s currency code when it builds the feed. If you type a code anyway (for example 79.99 USD), Feedy replaces it with the feed’s currency, so the code only appears once.
  • Sale Price Effective Date: the sale window as start-date/end-date, for example 2026-01-01/2026-01-31.

Custom Label 0 to Custom Label 4. Values here override the feed-level label settings. See Custom Labels.

Energy Efficiency Class (for appliances in the EU), Mobile Link and Canonical Link.

Lists the product’s variants with optional per-variant values. See Variants for how these are used today.

The right-hand side of the page shows:

  • A link to the product in Shopify admin.
  • Which feeds the product is in. If it isn’t in any feed, you’ll see “Not included in any feeds”, plus “due to validation errors” when errors are the reason.
  • Validation issues. Errors, warnings and recommendations for the product. Issues marked From GMC come from Google Merchant Center after a status sync. Some issues have an Add now link that jumps to the field to fix.
  • Feed Quality. A score for how complete the product’s data is. See Health and Quality Scores.
  • Pause this product. Leaves the product out of all your feeds, on every platform, until you untick it. Regenerate your feeds for the change to take effect.
  • Expiration date. Adds Google’s expiration_date attribute to Google Shopping XML feeds, so Google stops showing the product after this date. The product stays in your feeds.
