Field Mapping

Field mapping controls where Feedy gets the value for each feed attribute. For example, you can take the brand from a metafield instead of the Shopify vendor, or set every product’s condition to “new”.

Most stores don’t need to change anything. Auto (Default) works for standard Shopify products.

  1. Click Feeds and open the feed.
  2. Open the Field Mapping card.
  3. Open a section: Basic Information, Product Identifiers, Categorization, Detailed Attributes or Shipping. The attributes you see depend on the feed’s platform.
  4. For each attribute, choose a source from the list.
  5. Click Save, then Regenerate the feed.

A badge shows how many attributes you’ve changed from Auto. Each row shows a preview of the value it produces for a sample product.

Which options appear depends on the attribute. For a Google Shopping feed:

  • Metafield: type the metafield as namespace.key, for example custom.brand.
  • Static value: the same value for every product in the feed.
  • Don’t include: leave the attribute out of the feed.
  • Option 1/2/3: the product’s variant options, in the order they’re set up in Shopify. Feedy uses the first variant.

For Google Shopping feeds, values you set on a product’s page in Feedy win over the field mapping. Field mapping then applies to everything else. See Editing a product.
