Stock, Image and Draft Rules

Feedy has two places to control whether out-of-stock products, products without images, and draft or archived products go into your feeds: each feed’s own rules, and store-wide defaults on the Settings page.

In the feed wizard (step 2) and in each feed’s Products card, under Exclusion Rules:

  • Exclude out of stock products: products with 0 inventory are left out.
  • Exclude products without images: products with no image are left out.

To change them on an existing feed, open the feed’s Products card, change the boxes, click Save, then Regenerate.

Both boxes are off for new feeds, so out-of-stock products are included and shown as out of stock in the feed.

On the Settings page, under Product Inclusion Rules:

  • Include products without images (off by default)
  • Include out-of-stock products (on by default)
  • Include draft products (off by default): products not published in your store.
  • Include archived products (off by default)
  • Drafts and archived products are controlled only by the Settings page.
  • Stock and images: a feed’s own rule wins. Feeds made with Create New Feed always have their own stock and image rules, so for those feeds the Settings page values don’t apply. The Settings values are used by feeds that don’t have their own rule, such as duplicated or imported feeds.

Feedy looks at the inventory of the product’s first variant. If the first variant has 0 in stock, the product counts as out of stock, even if other variants are in stock. The feed’s availability value is also based on the first variant.

Inventory updates from Shopify reach Feedy when Sync on inventory changes is on in Settings. Your feed shows the new stock after the next regeneration. See Syncing products and Automatic updates.

Even if you include products without images, every platform treats a missing image as an error, so those products are still left out. See Image issues.
