Facebook and Instagram Catalog Feed
A Facebook Catalog feed gives Meta your product list for Facebook and Instagram shops and catalog ads. Facebook Catalog feeds are available on every plan, including the free Starter plan.
Create the feed
Section titled “Create the feed”- Click Feeds, then Create New Feed.
- Under Platform, choose Facebook Catalog.
- Enter a Feed Name and pick a Feed Format (TSV is the default; CSV and XML also work).
- Set the Target Market (country, language and currency).
- Choose your products, then review and create the feed.
What goes into a Facebook feed
Section titled “What goes into a Facebook feed”Each product appears once, using its first variant for price, SKU, barcode and stock. Feedy includes the ID, title, description, availability, condition, price, link, main and extra images, and brand. When the data exists it also includes GTIN, MPN, product type, Google product category, color, size, material, pattern, gender, age group, shipping weight, inventory count and custom labels 0 to 4.
Facebook feeds use your Shopify product data plus the feed’s own settings (field mapping, custom labels and UTM). Edits you make on a product’s page in Feedy are stored for Google Shopping, so they don’t change your Facebook feed.
Prices use the feed’s currency code. Feedy doesn’t convert prices.
Which products are left out
Section titled “Which products are left out”A product is left out of Facebook feeds if it has no title, no description, no image or no price. Missing brand and very long titles (over 150 characters) show as warnings but don’t remove the product. See Validation rules.
Add the feed to Meta Commerce Manager
Section titled “Add the feed to Meta Commerce Manager”- On the feed’s page in Feedy, click Copy URL.
- In Meta Commerce Manager, open your catalog and add items with a data feed.
- Choose a scheduled feed and paste the URL.
- Pick how often Meta should fetch it.
Meta’s own steps are in the Meta Business Help Center. If the feed is protected, use the protected URL with your token. See Feed security.
Keep the feed up to date
Section titled “Keep the feed up to date”Turn on a schedule in the feed’s Schedule card, then set Meta to fetch after that time. See Automatic updates.
Common problems
Section titled “Common problems”My product edits in Feedy don’t show in Meta. Product-level edits apply to Google Shopping feeds only. Change the product in Shopify, or use the feed’s Field Mapping card. See Field mapping.
Links show Google UTM tags. Change the UTM values in the feed’s Marketing card and click Regenerate.
