Customizing Product Titles

By default, Feedy uses your Shopify product title in feeds. You can set a different title just for your feeds. Your Shopify store keeps its original title.

  1. Go to Products and click the product.
  2. In Product Title, type the title you want in feeds (up to 150 characters). The character count shows as you type.
  3. Click Save.

Leave Product Title blank to go back to the Shopify title.

Some Google ad formats have less space. Short Title is a shorter version for those (up to 65 characters).

  1. Open the product.
  2. Fill in Short Title.
  3. Click Save.

Click ✨ AI next to Product Title or Short Title. Feedy shows a suggestion that you can accept or reject. Each suggestion uses one AI credit. See Optimizing Titles with AI.

To get suggestions for many products at once, use Optimize with AI on the Products page. See Bulk Editing.

Custom titles and short titles are used by Google Shopping feeds. Feeds for other platforms use your Shopify title (or whatever source you pick for the title in that feed’s Field Mapping).

  • Put the most important words first: brand, what the product is, then key details like color, size or material.
  • Describe the product as a shopper would search for it.
  • Don’t use all caps, promotional text (“Free shipping!”, “Sale”) or repeated words.
  • Keep each title accurate to the product page it links to.

Feedy flags titles that may be too long or too short for each platform:

  • Google Shopping: a warning if your custom title or short title is under 70 characters.
  • Facebook, TikTok, Microsoft: a warning if the title is over 150 characters.
  • Pinterest: a warning if the title is over 100 characters.

These are warnings, so the product is still included. See Validation Rules.
