FTP/SFTP Delivery Setup

Some platforms and partners want your product file uploaded to a server instead of fetching a URL. Feedy can push the feed file to an FTP or SFTP server for you. FTP/SFTP delivery is available on every plan.

  1. Go to Feeds and open the feed.
  2. Expand the FTP/SFTP Delivery card.
  3. Tick Enable FTP/SFTP delivery.
  4. Fill in Connection Settings:
    • Protocol: FTP or SFTP (SSH). SFTP is more secure and recommended.
    • Authentication Method (SFTP only): Password or SSH Private Key.
    • Host, for example ftp.example.com
    • Port: defaults to 21 for FTP and 22 for SFTP. Change it only if your server uses another port.
    • Username
    • Password, or for key authentication paste your SSH Private Key and, if the key is encrypted, its Key Passphrase
  5. Fill in Path & Filename:
    • Remote Path: the folder on the server, for example /feeds/google/
    • Filename Pattern: see below
  6. Under Push Settings, choose whether to Auto-push after regeneration.
  7. Click Test Connection and wait for Connection Successful.
  8. Click Save.

Credentials are stored encrypted. After saving, the password field shows that a password is saved. Enter a new value only if you want to change it.

The default pattern is {feed_name}_{date}.{format}. You can use these placeholders:

PlaceholderReplaced with
{feed_name}The feed’s name
{feed_id}The feed’s ID
{date}Date, YYYY-MM-DD (UTC)
{time}Time, HH-MM-SS (UTC)
{datetime}Date and time, YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS (UTC)
{format}xml, tsv or csv
  • Automatically: with Auto-push after regeneration on, Feedy pushes the file after every regeneration, whether you click Regenerate or a schedule runs it.
  • Manually: click Push to FTP at the top of the feed page. The feed must be Ready.

The FTP/SFTP Delivery card lists the last 10 pushes with their status: Success, Uploading, Pending, Retrying or Failed, plus any error. Click Retry on a failed push to try again.

If a push fails and Feed generation failures emails are turned on in Settings, Feedy emails you.
